The Vegan Society is the most globally recognized vegan certification. The Vegan Trademark is the authentic international vegan standard and is managed by The Vegan Society, which coined the word "vegan" in 1944.

This global organization, founded in the United Kingdom, has been registering vegan products since 1990 to help consumers confidently identify products that respect this ideology. It guarantees that each product meets the highest vegan standards.

To grant a product the label, it undergoes an exhaustive validation of the manufacturing processes and ingredients used. This guarantees its validity and authenticity.

The Vegan Society is the leading vegan product registry. Currently, there are approximately 60,000 products worldwide that carry this label, including those in the fashion, cosmetics, food, cleaning, and other industries.

More than 90% of vegans and vegetarians choose products containing this brand because of its good reputation and commitment.

What does it mean for a product to be certified vegan by The Vegan Society?

It means that it meets the following criteria:

  • Ethical and quality product
  • During none of the manufacturing and/or development processes of the product and/or its ingredients, animal products, by-products or derivatives were used.
  • No animal testing was used on the product or any ingredient.
  • There are no risks of contamination. Hygiene standards must be followed during production, preventing the production of non-vegan products in the same space.
  • Certifications last for one to two years. After this period, products must be re-evaluated to ensure all requirements continue to be met.
