It is important to create environmental education , to raise awareness of all the phenomena that regulate life on the planet.
The three Rs (reduce, recycle, and reuse) arose from a proposal made by Greenpeace, which was later presented by Japan during the G8 summit in 2004 as an initiative to build societies focused on implementing recycling practices.
The rule promotes three basic steps to reduce waste production and thus contribute to environmental protection and conservation. It seeks to change society's consumption habits, making them more responsible and sustainable.

How can we apply this rule?
1- Reduce:
If we reduce consumption, we reduce the waste we generate and therefore the impact on the environment.
It is the first of the '3Rs' because it is the best way to raise awareness of the problem, prevent it, and minimize its impact.
How can we reduce our consumption?
- Reducing water usage when washing.
- Buying what we need and avoiding overconsumption.
2- Reuse
It involves giving objects and materials a new use or functionality to prolong their usefulness before they become waste.
This reduces the volume of waste and reduces its impact on the environment.
What can we reuse?
- Paper prints
- Water we use to wash fruits and vegetables: instead of throwing it away, we can use it for watering.
- Glass jars: These can be reused for new purposes such as glasses, pencil holders, or containers for seeds or dried fruit.
- Books, clothing, and furniture: we can donate them to someone in need or exchange them for others.
3- Recycle
It consists of proper waste management that allows for the production of new products.
Nowadays, practically everything is recyclable, from food scraps to paper, cardboard, glass, metals, and plastics.
With this we contribute to reducing:
- Environmental damage
- Consumption of new raw materials
- Effort, time and money invested in production
In Latin America, around 4 million people make a living from recycling, collecting and processing primarily paper, cardboard, plastic, glass, and metal waste.

At Biomille, we believe that caring for and protecting the environment is the key to the future.
